Your provider will review your medical history, examine the treatment area and discuss realistic expectations. Small amounts are injected into selected muscles. Effects are temporary. Botox does not permanently stop muscle activity or cure bruxism or temporomandibular disorders.
Temporary tenderness, swelling, bruising, headache or unwanted muscle weakness may occur. Less common complications will be reviewed during informed consent.
Platelet-Rich Fibrin Treatment in Maple Ridge

What Is PRF?
PRF comes from your own body. It contains a fibrin network with concentrated platelets and growth factors involved in clotting and tissue repair. Depending on preparation, PRF may be used as a liquid, clot or membrane.
How Is PRF Prepared?
- Blood collection: Blood is drawn from your arm into specialized tubes.
- Centrifugation: The tubes are placed in a centrifuge and spun to separate and concentrate blood components.
- Preparation: The PRF is prepared in the form needed for your treatment.
- Application: It is placed at a dental surgical site or administered into selected areas of the skin or scalp.
PRF in Dental and Implant Care
PRF may be used as an adjunct during:
- Tooth extraction when a future dental implant is planned
- Implant placement immediately after extraction
- Socket preservation or selected bone-grafting procedures
