Meet our Maple Ridge Dentist
Dr. Florentina Iimuro
Dr. IIMURO was born in Brazil, where she lived until graduating from USP (University of São Paulo). She then went to Japan, her parents’ home country, to further her dental studies with the support of a Monbusho (Japanese Ministry of Education) scholarship. She earned her PhD from Tokyo Medical and Dental University.
She later went to South Korea with her husband, who is Korean. She studied implantology at Seoul National University as a postdoctoral researcher and obtained her dental license in South Korea. Since graduating from USP, she has worked in Brazil, Japan and South Korea for many years.
Dr. IIMURO began practicing dentistry in Canada in 2015. After gaining one year of experience at POHS in Surrey, she began practicing at Maple Ridge Dental Centre with the help of Dr. Marandi, who greatly assisted her in smoothly taking over the practice.
Dr. IIMURO has attended continuing education courses in prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics and orthodontics to keep her dental knowledge and skills up to date.
She speaks Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and English. She has lived in Maple Ridge since 2011 and enjoys life in the community. She also enjoys travelling, cooking and reading.

Dr. Shima Safaeian
Dr. Safaeian was born in Tehran and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2003. Before moving to Canada, she completed a four-year specialty program in prosthodontics. After moving to Canada, she became registered as a general dentist in British Columbia in 2021.
With more than 20 years of dental experience, including advanced training in prosthodontics, Dr. Shima has extensive expertise in fixed and removable prosthodontic treatment, as well as a broad range of general dental services. She is dedicated to helping her patients achieve healthy, confident smiles through personalized, high-quality dental care.
